Lallit Anand selected for ASME Drucker Medal
Lallit Anand, the Warren and Towneley Rohsenow Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has been selected to receive the 2014 Daniel C. Drucker Medal. Established by the Applied Mechanics Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 1997, the medal recognizes distinguished contributions to the field of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering through research, teaching, and service to the community over a substantial period of time.
Professor Anand is cited for his “seminal contributions to the formulation of constitutive theories for the plastic response of a variety of engineering solids, including polycrystalline metals, metallic glasses, glassy polymers, and granular materials.’’ The award is one of the highest distinctions for a mechanician's career achievement.
