School of Engineering first quarter 2023 awards
Faculty and researchers across MIT’s School of Engineering receive many awards in recognition of their scholarship, service, and overall excellence. The School of Engineering periodically recognizes their achievements by highlighting the honors, prizes, and medals won by faculty and research scientists working in our academic departments, labs, and centers.
- Anuradha Agarwal of the MIT Microphotonics Center won Phase 1 of a National Science Foundation Convergence Grant on Sustainability in Microelectronics Manufacturing, on Dec. 15, 2022.
- Harry Asada of the Department of Mechanical Engineering received the Pioneer in Robotics and Automation Award on March 30.
- George Barbastathis of the Department of Mechanical Engineering was selected as an SPIE Fellow on Jan. 31.
- Luca Carlone of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics was named a 2023 Sloan Research Fellow on Feb. 15.
- Constantinos Daskalakis of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was named a 2022 Association for Computer Machinery Fellow on Jan. 18.
- Peter Dedon of the Department of Biological Engineering was named an American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow on Jan. 31.
- Mark Drela of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics was named a 2023 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Honorary Fellow on Feb. 13.
- Bevin Engleward of the Department of Biological Engineering received a Society of Toxicology Education Award on Jan. 20.
- Chuchu Fan of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics received a National Science Foundation Career Award on Jan. 23.
- Ariel Furst of the Department of Chemical Engineering received the Marion Milligan Mason Award on Jan. 19.
- Katie Galloway of the Department of Chemical Engineering received a Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering Rising Star Award on Jan. 5.
- Ruonan Han of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science received the 2023 IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society New Frontier Award on March 10.
- Klavs F. Jensen of the Department of Chemical Engineering was named a Neal R. Amundson Award Recipient on Jan. 11.
- Ruben Juanes of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering received a 2024 Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Lectureship Award on March 14.
- Richard Lanza of the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering was selected as an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fellow on Jan. 1.
- Jelena Notaros of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science received a National Science Foundation Career Award on Dec. 28, 2022.
- Caroline Uhler of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science was named a Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics Fellow on March 31.
- Brian L. Wardle of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics was selected as a 2023 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Fellow on Feb. 13.
